The Scottish Health Research Register and Biobank (SHARE) is recruiting for a dynamic National Programme Manager, based within the University of Dundee and NHS Tayside
If you are passionate about health research in Scotland and looking for your next challenge in a fast-paced and fulfilling role, the SHARE team want to hear from you. You will play a vital role to ensure the effective day-to-day management of this flagship project and raise SHARE’s profile as a primary resource to the research community in Scotland and beyond.
In its 12th year, this is an exciting opportunity to join this unique project, funded by the Chief Scientist Office of the Scottish Government. The aim of SHARE is to build a volunteer register of up to one million residents in Scotland (currently over 300,000) who have expressed an interest in assisting healthcare research. The SHARE office is based in NHS Tayside at Ninewells Hospital and Medical School and is supported by the R&D offices in all 14 Health Boards.
This is a fixed-term appointment until 31 March 2026 in the first instance with strong possibility of extension annually thereafter.

Your priorities will include
- Manage day-to-day operations to drive forward agreed objectives and dynamically lead the SHARE team
- Develop marketing campaigns and recruitment activities to raise awareness and grow the SHARE participant register (aiming to recruit one million Scots)
- Promote SHARE to researchers as Scotland’s unique and valuable utility; oversee the management of studies activities and build relationships across the research community in Scotland
- Build internal/external relationships and collaborate with cross-section of audiences including the public, industry, NHS clinicians, funders, SHARE directors and Management Board members
- Financial responsibility of the project budget
- Responsibility for review and maintenance of project policies, protocols and procedures ensuring they meet with Ethics and Quality Assurance requirements
Who they're looking for
- Excellent interpersonal skills, presentation, communication skills
- 5 years + experience in high-level project management role
- Relevant clinical research experience
- Proven ability to manage and deliver multiple tasks to deadlines
- Experience of staff management
- Proactive, dynamic, self-motivated individual able to inspire and achieve
