Recruiting patients for clinical trials

The four UK Chief Medical Officer's (CMO's) highlight the vital importance of participation in clinical research to understanding and treating COVID-19.
We are still lacking proven, effective, treatments for COVID-19, but Scotland and the UK is well placed to develop
evidence to inform future patient treatment. Clinical trials are critical both to determining which treatments work and developing the evidence for safety, frequency and dose.
The letters from the four UK CMO's highlight the ongoing effort by colleagues across the UK to increase participation in COVID-19 related studies, as well as the importance of doing so as new admissions fall due to the success of social/physical distancing measures - as well as highlighting several key studies.
