Yvonne McIlvenna
West Node Research Co-ordinator (West of Scotland)
Yvonne McIlvenna has been in medical research since 1994, having previously worked as a graduate RGN at UCH London, Ballochmyle Hospital and Glasgow Royal Infirmary. She completed a Masters in Health Studies at Edinburgh University, then returned to GRI to manage a team of nurses on the MONICA demographic study from 1994-95.
She moved to the Department of Medicine and Therapeutics at the Western Infirmary in Glasgow and, from 1995-2009, led many large international studies. Yvonne established, managed, audited and monitored multi-disciplinary projects in Europe, South and North America and China.
She also taught medical students and trainee pharmacists during her time as an Honorary Research Fellow at the Western Infirmary, and planned and led workshops as part of the Edinburgh Clinical Trials course.
Since 2009, Yvonne has been working in the network as West-Node research co-ordinator.
