Early Career Research Network
Our early career research network is supporting the next generation of researchers in oral and dental research.
This network is led by early career researchers for early career researchers. Through a series of workshops, using co-design methods (both in person and online), we have constructed groupings around specific research themes, and assigned leadership for each of those themes.
The network is supported by both NHS Research Scotland and NHS Education for Scotland. It is led by Niall McGoldrick, Clinical Lecturer and Honorary Consultant in Dental Public Health, and Francesca Capaldi, Specialty Registrar in Paediatric Dentistry.
The network is open to any researcher interested in oral and dental research, who feels they are at an early stage of their research career. All members of the dental team are invited to join. Researchers from a non-clinical background but working in oral and dental are also most welcome to join.
The themes that have been established are:
- Health Inequalities
- Sustainability
- Healthcare quality
- Technology
- Education
